Brock Purdy returns to 49ers

There is a glimmer of hope that the San Francisco 49ers may have their starting quarterback available for their upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Brock Purdy, who missed Wednesday’s practice due to being in concussion protocol, made a notable return to the practice field on Thursday. While it’s important to note that his participation was likely limited, it signifies positive progress in his recovery and raises the possibility of him being back on the field for Week 8.

During Wednesday’s press conference, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that Purdy began exhibiting symptoms related to his concussion during the flight back to California after the team’s Monday night loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

This season, Purdy has put up solid numbers, completing 68 percent of his passes for 1,668 yards, along with 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
